Accommodation in Dubai

The perfect destination for family holidaying, Dubai hosts golf tournaments, international tennis, shopping festivals, horse races and million dollar lotteries. With more than 6 million tourists flocking to the gates of the emirate each year, Dubai accommodation has to be always up to the challenge. And, judging from the 90% average occupancy rate in Dubai hotels, the emirate is indeed a welcoming spot for both tourists and entrepreneurs.

When it comes to hotels, Dubai accommodation offers the best money can buy. Perched on an artificial island and built to mimic the shape of a billowing sail, the 321 m Burj-Al-Arab Dubai is the world’s tallest hotel. However, its height will soon be surpassed by the Rosa Tower, a skyscraper hotel in the center of Dubai to be completed in 2007. In spite of this, the Burj-Al-Arab Dubai still remains the only five-star deluxe hotel on earth which characterizes itself as a “seven-star” facility. Its lavish 202 bedroom suits feature spa-like bathrooms, spiral staircases covered in marble, and mosaic tile patterns with Arabian-influenced designs. The cost of a suite at the Burj-al-Arab starts at $1,000 and can reach as much as $15,000 per night, with the Royal Suite costing an impressive $28,000 per night.

Besides the Burj-al-Arab, Dubai offers a wide variety of hotel accommodation which is generally considered to be of very high standard and great value for the money. The range includes everything from budget hotel Dubai accommodation to luxury hotels. However, beach hotels tend to have the highest prices and the highest occupancy, so it’s wise to book well in advance. For instance, there are about 20 four and five-star hotels around Jumeirah Beach, where a room costs between $100 and $1500.

Dubai Airport

Near the Dubai International Airport, there are also three to five-star hotels which charge between $90 and $300. In its turn, Bur Dubai offers quality Dubai accommodation in 28 hotels of two to five stars. While Dubai Desert has two five-star hotels with rooms costing around $200 per night, Deira has more than 30 hotels of two to five stars which cost between $70 and $225. The new Trump Hotel is also planned for the man-made Palm Jumeirah Island, although there is no shortage on five-star facilities in Dubai.

Dubai accommodation

Interestingly enough, these days Dubai accommodation is also available in privately owned apartments which will cost almost the same as the low-end segment of Dubai hotel industry. However, these Dubai apartments are much better suited for long term stays, and are not exactly the complete alternative of staying at a Dubai hotel. Since Dubai is a very popular venue for business conferences and events, it is best to book as early as possible even if planning to stay in a Dubai apartment.

Additionally, there is a lot of private Dubai accommodation being built, although at the moment the demand exceeds the supply by far. If you intend to buy a piece of the Dubai real estate market for personal use, you will find the residential property market less competitive in the beginning of 2008, when the supply of newly built buildings is bound to finally exceed the number of demands. However, this may change dramatically once again as mortgages will become available on the market.

In short, Dubai accommodation has a bit of everything for every tourist or businessman. With further expansion currently on its way and the ever-growing annual influx of tourists, Dubai is set to offer one of the most exciting travel experiences in the United Arab Emirates. So make sure you book your Dubai accommodation early and take advantage of this hospitable corner of the world.
