Dubai is a Shoppers Paradise, it has always been known as a great shopping destination for all. Best Brands in the world are available here for the unbeatable prices. Thanks to Dubai Open Port, low import duties and Zero Tax policies, even major brand name products, widely available in the city, are often less expensive in Dubai than in their country of origin. There's something for every taste & every budget. There is n number of Shopping Malls and Souks (Markets) spread all across Dubai; some are so big that only strolling through them will take couple of days. And to add the attraction Dubai government keeps conducting events all through year. During these events huge discounts are offered on all your favorite brands. There are two main events which you cannot afford to miss, if you want to do some smart shopping.

 

One is Dubai shopping festival for which shoppers from around the world flock to Dubai to take advantage of the fantastic bargains and promotions at this annual event occurring in the first four months of the year. Every year, Dubai Shopping Festival provides fun family activities as well as blowout prices.

And the second one is Dubai Summer Surprises. This festival runs from the end of June to the beginning of September. Dubai's 38 air-conditioned shopping malls host a plethora of shows and events designed to entertain and amaze children of all ages. Families fly in every year to participate in the summer activities which all occur indoors.

Deira Gold Souk

Wear your shades as you enter this territory, as the glare of all the gold and stones will amaze you. The district of Old Deira is always abuzz with locals and tourists squabbling over the prices. Jewelry Designs range from 22 carat Indian extravaganzas to delicate 18 carat Italian pieces. Everything from emeralds, rubies, bracelets to rings dazzle here and are sold cheap.

Perfume Souk

Situated near Sikkat Al Khali Street, Deira. You will find perfumes of local and international repute here. The fragrance of Arabic perfumes wafts about in the souk. The oily scents and incense sticks, especially Frankincense, are a hit here. You can also buy Carolina Herrera, Ted Lapidus and other designer perfumes tax free. This is one smelly affair you won't forget.

Spice Souk

Spice Souk is used to be the Deira Old Souk, this Souk welcomes you with an aroma of spices. Apart from sacks of nutmeg, cinnamon, dried lemons and different types of chilies, you may find Iranian dry fruits and nuts too. Towards the end of the spice trail, loads of Persian rugs and glassware don the scene.

 

Deira Sabka Souk

This souk or traditional market sells everything available, but is especially known for its textiles. The huge number of vendors from all over the world sells clothes, kitchenware, household appliances, henna and other such items. You can expect a good bargain here.

Electronics Souk

Electronics has always been one of Dubai 's greatest attractions for the shopper & tourist alike. Whatever it is you are looking for - from a nifty personal CD player and the most sophisticated component system to snazzy camcorders and projection television sets - chances are you will find the right product to satisfy all your needs. Electronic giants such as Sony, Aiwa, Citizen and Brother are some of the big companies that have already established assembly facilities in Dubai to further boost the distribution of their products to African, CIS and Middle East markets.

This souk is a haven for electronic goods. Find the latest invention in technology at competitive prices. Shopping for iPOD’s, PDA’s, digital cameras, palmtops and the like doesn't get any better. Moreover karaoke machines, DJ mixers and other equipments are also sold here. Please beware of fakes though.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Located near Jumeirah, this shopping center has a unique charm to it. It is an open air market and has the feel of an Arabian Bazaar. There are more than 70 specialized shops that sell everything from designer wear to traditional arts and crafts. Walk through its lanes and witness artists creating some amazing examples of craftsmanship. Enjoy an elaborate meal at one of the 20+ restaurants or relax at the waterside cafe. If you are in the mood for a movie, head to the Madinat Cineplex. And if that's not enough, go ahead and shake a leg at the nightclub and have a memorable evening. Experience the charm of Arabia along with style and a rich ambience.

Ban Yas Square

Ban Yas Square is located near Deira, here you can get quality products at rates far cheaper than the department stores, and you will find everything here from mobile handsets to DVD players. It also sells a variety of textiles at extremely reasonable rates.
