The Old Town - Dubai

The Old Town in the Burj Dubai District lies on the edge of vast open water and a parkland and will soon be a thriving neighborhood with heart and soul. It’s more of a village within the city, brought alive by its people. You can also see the spectacular Burj Dubai and the Dubai Mall from the Old Town adding color and vibrancy of Dubai's downtown area. The Old Town development is expected to present an attractive investment proposition to the prospective homeowners. The reason is simple; it's an outstanding model of an integrated urban economic community with a touch of traditional Arabic class. The Old Town has generated a fair amount of interest in every quarter and even the Dubai royalty is not untouched by its charm. Satisfaction with the uniqueness of the Old Town was expressed by none other than General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defense himself. The Old Town covers a mammoth area of 3.7 million square feet and features courtyard apartments and Souk-styled retail facilities. The lush palms, winding alleys and bustling marketplaces with exotic merchandise together recreate the mystical world of ancient Arabia. At the Old Town you can have east-meets-west cuisines, past-meets-future entertainment and old-meets-new lifestyles. By day, you can enjoy an enthralling way of life with the fusion of stalls, boutiques, parlors and coffee houses and by night you can enjoy abundant vitality in the lantern lit streets, where diners relish the sounds of live music.

The Old Town DubaiThe Old Town is being described as being more than just a trademark lifestyle community. You can experience more of a pedestrian lifestyle here, which will slow down the hectic pace of your life by encouraging you to get out of your car and take a stroll. Construction of the Old Town is underway and the first apartments are expected to be ready for possession by the owners by the end of 2006. The Old Town will offer you a variety of one, two, three and four bedroom suites, as well as penthouse suites, in three distinct building styles with unit sized varying from 660 to 2,550 sq ft. You can expect to see architectural cues taken from traditional buildings which include the Al-Bastakia neighborhood of Bur Dubai and the residences of Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum and Mohammed Shareef Boukash. The textures of these residential units will reflect the gypsum, clay or sarjool plastering used in the early twentieth century. Terraces, parapets balconies, recesses, pergolas and niches make for comfortable outdoor living and at the same time the views are enhanced with elegant window and door openings. The neighborhood will have a kid's play and relaxation areas, landscaped sitting areas, pool facilities and beautiful gardens.

Residents can choose to live in one of six quarters, Yansoon, Reehan, Miska, Zaafaran, Zanzabeel, or Kamoon. The Old Town residential area will have features like multi-purpose hall, children’s playroom, swimming pool, lounge, squash courts, games room, movie theatre, juice bar, aerobics room, relaxation room and the best of all underground parking all adding to the character of life of The Old Town. You can also enjoy a generous private rooftop terrace and garden, with unique views across the neighborhood with some homes in distinctive low-rise buildings. If you are in one of the lavishly detailed penthouse apartments at the top of many mid-rise towers then you can enjoy the ultimate in luxury, large open terraces and full height windows with magnificent views across the surrounding neighborhood. A significant number of apartments are clustered around a courtyard – or minsera. As in Old Dubai residences you can have the feel of a very private space with their perimeter access walkways. At the same time, you can also experience an exclusive and personal ambience with its unique landscaping, and sound of water. You can expect the ultimate in convenience and service retail facilities with in the unique architectural interior design features at each of the Old Town communities. You can enjoy the ambience of an open traditional Souk, with tight twisted lanes and shaded walkways, leading to a main double central court and the delights of open public spaces, malls, courts, domes and arches, and a wide selection of restaurants and nightlife.
